THE JOY OF WORKING WITH OTHERS : CROESO LAUGHARNE
The other day I worked with CROESO LAUGHARNE. This is a dynamic local volunteer-run social enterprise in Laugharne Carmarthenshire. It provides free social get-togethers and activities.
I was involved in a recent event on Friday 11 July. There was a traditional warm welcome, with teas and coffees, games and chat. After my art demo, delicious two-course meal! I was introduced…
‘And for this session, we welcome the hugely talented landscape painter Tim Baynes. Tim is making a special trip back to Laugharne to join us at Croeso Cynnes. He’ll be showcasing his skills by creating a painting live during the session. Then it’s over to us, as Tim invites everyone to pick up a brush and discover their inner Constable!’
I did a landscape demonstration using acrylic paints, for 30 minutes. Then I turned the session over to the audience. I’d set up places for people to come and have a go at painting. Each place had a brush paper water and just four colours.
The results were remarkable. Such an exciting things happen when you can talk for a little bit. Then demonstrate for a little bit and see others working after that. People gain so much more several had never painted before!
