Exciting for Tim is a grey Essex marsh, an impossibly green Carmarthenshire hillside and now the Wiltshire downs.
He is always scavenging across experience and material, spurred on by close examination other painters- important influences are celebrated in his blog
Drawing or photography is often the start point when something excites him. Back in his studio making more drawings or paint/oil pastel studies. His painting then takes these and pulls an idea together in pigment. Tim Baynes studied fine art at Carmarthen School of Art with additional studies at Central St Martins School of Art and The Slade. His paintings of fields, farms, factories and towns are for sale. His commissioned work is in collections in the US, UK, France, Spain and Australia.
Now Tim has added to his paintings limited edition prints and cards. They celebrate his travels. All build on his illustrative approach to places and things that excite him.
