AT LAST! The Rome Sketchbook is available.
In March we had a remarkable six days in Rome, seeing some very special sites not normally on the itinerary. Visited villa’s and gardens near the city which were new to us.
All theses experiences are treasured in this sketchbook of 30 drawings that is free now to download. From here https://timbaynesart.co.uk/product/rome-sketchbook/
As a painter, printmaker I dedicate my work to exploring & capturing the landscape. I bring exciting places into people’s homes. Often times I am painting for a commission and running demonstrations for art groups.

Printmaking
Monotyping is printmaking made by drawing & painting an image using etching ink on a copper plate. The image is transferred onto paper when the plate passed through the press.
The process produces an exclusive, one-off pieces of work.
Commissions
• One of the most exciting areas of painting in which I work is the creation of specific pieces for a commission
• It is often a particular place, sometimes a house, sometimes a coastal area or landscape that is special to someone
• Please do get in touch for an exploratory conversation if you have an idea for a painting you’d like
Demonstrations
My painting demonstrations are very popular. I deliver highly interactive sessions for 90 minutes to 2 hours.
Recent feedback..
“Thank you Tim. I really enjoyed the evening’s demonstration and given me the push to get back to oils”
Drawings
The vitality of drawing
Exploration. Drawing is an exploratory act a way of figuring out what may or may not be important in a follow-up/larger piece of work.
Celebration. In sketchbooks or on large sheets of paper is a celebratory process, reacting to what is in front of me or in my head at the time.
Recording. I have been lucky enough to travel extensively; drawing has always been a part of the adventure. As a result there are over 80 sketch books on the shelf.
