Patricia Lynch BA (hons) Fine Art My latest work involves the use of both acrylics on canvas and egg tempera on gesso panels. Some years ago I was taught the ancient techniques of egg tempera and gilding and I am now revisiting this beautiful medium to produce powerful abstract pieces - almost modern day icons featuring the human figure and elements of landscape. Inspiration comes from the fusion of memory and that 'personal' journey; the experience of living and being; an awareness of sensation, sound and colour. Like memories of songs and poems, spaces and places remain within us and through the process of painting they are recalled, re-emerging as new spaces, imaginary spaces and sometimes places of dreams and hopes.
